Weekly Rewind

Hey guys! It’s officially the end of the first week of May! Everything’s in bloom – spring is in full swing we’re getting some summer preview weather and boy are the humidity and my allergies killing me! 🙁

But despite these trivial things it worked out to be a pretty great week!

I’d like to start off by giving a shout out to all the mommas, mommy-to-be’s, grandma’s, god mothers, sisters, aunts, and even the awesome dads who pull double duty, who are always there through thick and thin. This one’s for you!mothers-day

Not a very busy week for me on the ‘gram if you follow along you did spot a few throwbacks the related posts will be up on the blog soon. So look out for that!

Tv

A tough one this week in network television with announcements of cuts and reboots for the coming season in television.

For fans of the ABC show Revenge starring Emily VanCamp from former ABC hit Brothers and sisters, it was a sad one with the announcement that at the end of it’s fourth season the show will not be renewed for another season.

Also joining the pack, of cancellations for ABC network, Cristella, Forever and Ressurection.

On competing network, NBC several shows also got the axe like Katherine Heigl’s comeback show State of Affairs which had sent so long off the air in it’s post-spring hiatus that it was as good as cancelled.

Amongst those on the NBC shortlist; Marry Me, About A Boy, One Big Happy, joining early nixes A to Z and Bad Judge. Also in the crapper, Constantine and Allegiance, also quite possibly American Odyssey which has not been fairing well for ratings.

In a surprise move, Fox has decided not to renew The Mindy Project, ensue the waterworks – I was shocked and sorely disappointed after binge watching through the first two seasons and pining for every morsel of entertainment from the third? And what a cliff hanger though- thankfully the show is being shopped to Hulu who have licensed the rights from producer Universal TV. Fingers crossed!

Also surprising – the cancellation of Backstrom. 🙁 Now what will I watch FX? sigh!

In brighter news Black-ish is going strong after winning nods this past award season and as we await the season finale of this season’s Scandal, I already going through withdrawal…lol!

Also wrapping up it’s final season in the coming weeks, The Big Bang Theory. After 8 magnificent seasons, Penny, Sheldon, Raj, Amy, Leonard, Howard and Bernadette will no longer brighten our days – unless you count reruns…

Let’s see what the summer holds.

p.s. let’s prepare from the premiere of season 8 of Castle!

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently dominating the box office for the second weekend in a row raking in $80 million thus far and it’s looking like the trend will hold steady going into the new week.

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) has declared the Liberia ebola outbreak over since the passage of the 42 days, two maximum incubation periods of the virus, since the burial of the last person confirmed to have ebola in the country. This means that the country has therefore fulfilled the official criteria for concluding that human-to-human transmission has ended. Health officials still cautioned that there is still worry about neighboring countries Sierra Leone and Guinea to the north.

“nail house” sitting in the middle of a road in Nanning, in China’s Guangxi region

This image cracked me up. It depicts what has been termed a “nail house“, a term used to describe houses where residents refuse to be evicted for land developers. the house has sat in the road for more than a decade after a dispute with developers over compensation for the demolition of the property.
