Hey guys – it seems like I just finished last week’s weekly rewind and yet here we are again. This week has flown by and I still haven’t figured out where the time went. However it’s time for another Weekly Rewind and a round up of all the things that made it at the top of my list.
First of all spring has sprung… as I did last year I took my official spring shot of the blooms on my walk along the block to our apartment –
And, kudos to the best spring day ever!! I took the long way all day just to relish in the sunshine and even had lunch outside!!
This week I took to protective styling my hair as a means of not fussing over it for a little while. (Let me know if I should do a post on this.) The image of my new lion mane is now up on the’gram.
In keeping with the spring trends I also indulged in some pastel love with my new manicure.
Gotham has finally returned after a month long spring hiatus…which kinda felt like the end as the season’s episodes leave you in a frenzied state unsure where things will end or how (despite knowing most of the supposed plot from the comics*sic*) …and still wanting more. The hubby and I have yet to finally catch up on this past week’s episode (season 1 ep. 19) but I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Not checking out the spoilers is the hardest thing.
And….Papa Pope has returned!!! Yikes!! :O What trouble does he have brewing for Olivia…and Fitz?? Who else does he have tangled in his web of manipulation? OMG – I can’t wait to get around to binge watching to finally catch up. (What other choice do I have since I’m jonesing until episode 5 of GOT comes on.)
The BBC America show Orphan Black thrust viewers right back into the thick f things with it’s season 3 premiere on Saturday night and if the thrilling first episode is a prelude of what’s to com we better fasten our seatbelts.
Rihanna officially released the music video for “American Oxygen” off of her album R8 amidst controversy for her other sing BBHMM.
Coachella continues this weekend with another incredible line-up. I’ll be looking out for any exciting happenings…as we all know last week had many an “interesting” surprise.
The MTV Movie Awards took place last Sunday to what was noted as a significant dip in viewer ratings. Hosted by Amy Schumer the night was not without it’s fair share of star studded antics an shock factor quips. From Robert Downey’s one-liner to Rebel Wilson’s censor moment, stripper dances and kiss scenes, the night turned out to be quite eventful.
The TriBeca Film Festival, started by actor Robert DeNiro and other well to do New York residents of the film industry in 2002, kicked off this week on, April 15th and runs through 21st.
Have you seen the new People Style Watch magazine cover layouts?? What’s your take on it?
Glamour magazine pulled out the big guns for it’s May 2015 cover and featured some of the most influential women of our time.
Also joining the ranks for featuring a jam packed cover of some of the most powerful women in the country, Essence magazine has dedicated it’s May cover to some of films most talked about first ladies.
One pf my favorite ladies is at it again featured as the cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar U. K., Lupita N’yongo is May’s Cover girl and looks absolutely stunning in that gorgeous red dress.
Heads of the Cannes Film Festival had a few choice opinions on “red carpet selfies” and the practice moving forward.
“We are waging a campaign to slow down the contemporary practice of “selfies” on the red carpet and the steps,” revealed the […]we think, it’s a practice that’s often extremely ridiculous and grotesque. We don’t want to prohibit it, but it’s really a matter of timing, […]it really slows things down if people stop every two metres to take a picture of themselves, with themselves.” – Head of the festival Thierry Frémaux.
And his sentiments were also echoed not as politely by the President of the festival, Pierre Lescure, who went a step further than Frémaux saying: “It’s always the ugliest picture of you anyway.“
Lily Pulitzer for Target held a Launch Party this week prior to the official April 19th roll-out in stores. Several Hollywood fashionistas like Camilla Alves, Bella Thorne, Ellie Kemper and Kate Bosworth were in attendance ad took the time to speak up against body shaming. Attendees were treated to a preview of the collection and also modeled their favorite pieces.
Burberry’s “London in Los Angeles” Runway show took place in Los Angeles week and coincided with the British brands opening of it’s new four storey store on Rodeo Drive. The event featured artists like George Ezra, Tom Odell, Clare Maguire, and Benjamin Clementine and even the Queen’s Horse Gards. The event brought out fellow Brits and fashion lovers alike.
Nina Ricci perfume ad fashion heiress, Arlette Ricci, has been convicted and sentenced to one year for tax fraud by the Italian courts.
Giselle Bündchen retired from life as a catwalk model this week in her final show for Colcci, during São Paolo Fashion Week in her home country of Brazil. The model has clarified that although she will retire from runway she will not be quitting the fashion industry.
