The Best of the amfAR Gala Cannes 2017

Each year during the Cannes Film festival guests of the festival, including donors, researchers and celebrity spokesmen for the organization gather for the one of the big ticket festival items, the annual AmfAR Gala, one of the largest charitable events of the year.

Founded in 1985, amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment, education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy in an effort to end the global AIDS epidemic. Since it’s inception, the organization has invested over $450 million into it’s programs and has awarded more than 3,300 grants for research worldwide. To date, this annual star-studded event has raised more than $190 million for amfAR’s research programs and has helped keep the fight against AIDS in the global media spotlight.

Standing true to it’s motto: Making AIDS History, AmfAR has pledged a $100 million Countdown to a Cure for AIDS initiative with the hopes of developing the scientific basis for a cure by the year 2020.

On May 25th, the highly anticipated 24th annual event, produced by AAB Productions and Andy Boose, sponsored by Harry Winston, the Bold Films Company, Moët Hennesy, Persol and Renault, returned to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, d’Antibes, France.
