This weekend the 10th annual Veuve Clicqout Polo Classic returned to the Liberty State Park in New Jersey for a boozy afternoon of picnicking, polo, glamour and fun in support of Keep a Child Alive and Friends of the Liberty State Park, the official beneficiary of the event.
While spring has officially sprung – we here in the city have been relegated once again to our heavy winter gear with the chill that has set in after a wonderful peek at how nice it can be when sun comes out and the air warms up. One sweet mercy – the remaining ice from the Winter Storm Stella has mostly been melted away.
But enough of my complaints about the weather, besides I’m not that deeply saddened as I have some warmth to look forward to – in my wardrobe anyways.
It’s officially the last Friday of the year guys and honestly, I can’t help being just a little nostalgic.
This has been one of the most amazing years ever. I have had some of the greatest opportunities of a lifetime, personally and professionally and especially so with the blog.
Looking back at my memories from this year, I was really having trouble deciding what I wanted to share with you all because there were just too many awesome moments to choose from. So while I sit here flipping through more of these moments, here are just some of my favorites.
This past week I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by Abercrombie & Fitch Elle Magazine and featured blogger Christina Caradona of Trop Rouge.
Held at the brand’s flagship Fifth Avenue location, the event was super exclusive with a guest list that comprised of models, bloggers, fashion fans and bigwigs alike. Guests were checked in at the door and then ushered into the store which was closed to the public for the evening’s festivities, and to the second floor where the main event was taking place, although guests were free to shop the entire store for more amazing finds.
As I mentioned earlier on the blog Nordstrom has teamed up with everyone’s favorite it girl to create a collection for their in house brand, Chelsea 28. The collection is inspired by Olivia’s signature style that is envied the world over.
“The ‘Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28’ collection reflects how a stylish young woman is dressing today… [Olivia Palermo] is revered around the globe for her style. We know our customers look to her for fashion inspiration, and we saw her consistently on our inspiration boards as well. We think she embodies the Chelsea28 brand perfectly, so it was a very natural choice.”

Pieces range from on trend items like cropped wide-legged denim culottes and boho-inspired paisley, camel suede trench dress and a even a Parisian-style pin-striped twin set. And with prices starting at $68 dollars, everyone is sure to find something to match their tastes and pockets.
I’m sure you’re bound to find some new favorites amongst these amazing pieces to add to your style repertoire. I know I’ve got my eye on a few things.

Welcome to La Vie de Soleil – The Sunshine Life. That’s the translation of my blog’s name.
I thought it a fitting name because as my husband always jokes, I am solar-powered. A testament to my island-girl roots and especially true in the colder, wetter months when I usually become quite lethargic and the declining temperature wreak havoc on my hair and skin. Ironically, I currently live in a temperate country and as I type this there is still snow on the ground from the latest winter snowstorm and the thermostat on my weather app currently reads 10º Fahrenheit.
