Golden Globes 2016

Award season is officially here!

Last night, marked the celebration of the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards. The award show held at the The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California was broadcast live and honored the best in film and American television for the year 2015. Hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais nominees and their guests were entertained by uncanny and witty – sometimes albeit crass humor by the entertainer as well as many of the presenters.

But before the nominees got to enjoy their evening of dining and hob-knobbing with their industry counterparts they took to the red carpet in their numbers and in awesome splendor. Here are some of my favorites of the evening.

And then the evening began, but not without some shockers:

 Rosie Huntington-Whitely is engaged to British actor – official hulligan, bad guy – Jason Stratham. Take a peak at the sparkler that sparked all the buzz;

America Ferrera and Eva Longoria started some hollywood buzz of their own – the ladies had a little fun with the media mixing up their names during their presenters’ speech:

Two big face offs between some of Hollywood’s greatsHelen Mirren vs. Kate Winslet – two of Britain’s best-loved actresses have been nominated in the Best Actress: Motion Picture category for their performances of characters based on real people, whilst Eddie Redmayne vs. Leonardo Di Caprio went head to head in the Best Actor: Motion Picture category.
