It is often said that a tree without roots, does not grow and so is the same for a people who do not
know – correction – do not accept and understand their history… and in turn, themselves.
Therefore when it was first announced that there would a Smithsonian Museum dedicated to African American history and culture I was beyond excited. I was even more ecstatic when then President Obama finally declared the museum open this past September. Hence it should come as no surprise that the hubby and I made our way back to the Capitol to partake in this piece of history.
This past week I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by Abercrombie & Fitch Elle Magazine and featured blogger Christina Caradona of Trop Rouge.
Held at the brand’s flagship Fifth Avenue location, the event was super exclusive with a guest list that comprised of models, bloggers, fashion fans and bigwigs alike. Guests were checked in at the door and then ushered into the store which was closed to the public for the evening’s festivities, and to the second floor where the main event was taking place, although guests were free to shop the entire store for more amazing finds.
This past week has zoomed by and it’s already mid week-again. I apologize again for the late weekly rewinds but it’s just been super hectic. So let’s just get right on in.
American Odyssey gets the boot after struggling to gain or maintain traction, the show which was already on the shortlist to be shelved has finally been nixed. Unable to gain the right momentum, NBC has decided to end the season. No word yet on if there will be a mid season replacement or any changes to the line up.
Chasing Life, an ABC Family original is set to return for it’s second season this month and one can only anticipate the drama and twists this season will hold for young April.
