While spring has officially sprung – we here in the city have been relegated once again to our heavy winter gear with the chill that has set in after a wonderful peek at how nice it can be when sun comes out and the air warms up. One sweet mercy – the remaining ice from the Winter Storm Stella has mostly been melted away.
But enough of my complaints about the weather, besides I’m not that deeply saddened as I have some warmth to look forward to – in my wardrobe anyways.
This past week I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by Abercrombie & Fitch Elle Magazine and featured blogger Christina Caradona of Trop Rouge.
Held at the brand’s flagship Fifth Avenue location, the event was super exclusive with a guest list that comprised of models, bloggers, fashion fans and bigwigs alike. Guests were checked in at the door and then ushered into the store which was closed to the public for the evening’s festivities, and to the second floor where the main event was taking place, although guests were free to shop the entire store for more amazing finds.
Last night musicians and celebrities alike gathered the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Billboard Music Awards ceremony. The evening hosted by rapper Ludacris and Singer Ciara was a momentous occasion for many with rapper, The Week’nd earning the most nominations with twenty nods and pop superstar Britney Spears receiving the Billboard Millennium Award.
As I mentioned earlier on the blog Nordstrom has teamed up with everyone’s favorite it girl to create a collection for their in house brand, Chelsea 28. The collection is inspired by Olivia’s signature style that is envied the world over.
“The ‘Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28’ collection reflects how a stylish young woman is dressing today… [Olivia Palermo] is revered around the globe for her style. We know our customers look to her for fashion inspiration, and we saw her consistently on our inspiration boards as well. We think she embodies the Chelsea28 brand perfectly, so it was a very natural choice.”
-Mark Tritton, President of Nordstrom Product Group
The 32-piece Spring 2016 collection, which was available for purchase as of yesterday, features Ready-To-Wear pieces that marries Olivia’s simple, feminine -chic aesthetic with classic American style in a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes. Pieces range from on trend items like cropped wide-legged denim culottes and boho-inspired paisley, camel suede trench dress and a even a Parisian-style pin-striped twin set. And with prices starting at $68 dollars, everyone is sure to find something to match their tastes and pockets.
I’m sure you’re bound to find some new favorites amongst these amazing pieces to add to your style repertoire. I know I’ve got my eye on a few things.
This past week has zoomed by and it’s already mid week-again. I apologize again for the late weekly rewinds but it’s just been super hectic. So let’s just get right on in.
American Odyssey gets the boot after struggling to gain or maintain traction, the show which was already on the shortlist to be shelved has finally been nixed. Unable to gain the right momentum, NBC has decided to end the season. No word yet on if there will be a mid season replacement or any changes to the line up.
Chasing Life, an ABC Family original is set to return for it’s second season this month and one can only anticipate the drama and twists this season will hold for young April.
As promised I have gone ahead and completed my review on my favorites from the Golden Globe Awards.
Admittedly, this year has had some of the better styled awards show red carpets, thus far. However, I can honestly say that I was sorely disappointed by some of my all time faves – looking at you Lupita, Jemima Kirke and the queen of slayage…JLo?!
It is one of my favorite times of the year…yes we are fresh off of the reverie of the Holiday Season and New Year’s resolutions but for me I’m getting most excited about…Award Season!!
Let me first start by apologizing for being M.I.A., the past week was a very long one.
Now back to these award shows…
For quite sometime now I have been intrigued with award shows and the glamour of it all. I always look forward to seeing which of my favorites have been nominated…and of course like everyone else I can not wait to see who will stun in yet another amazing designer gown/suit or set a new trend a Fashion’s new “it” guy or girl!
Last year on of my all time favorites as Ms. Lupita N’yongo who just did not disappoint!! This year I am looking forward to seeing all of the new trendsetters and which of my favorites will continue to amaze.
