The month of April was jam packed with lots to talk about, tons to see and loads of newsworthy happenings!
Today I’m introducing a monthly round-up as yet another new element to the blog. Here I am going to do a brief run through of some of the most notable things that happened in the past month.
So here goes.
If you follow me on instagram you have been privy to my many spring inspired outfits and nail changes. I also debuted my new protective hair style so definitely check it out.
On the Blog
This month blog I introduced a new segment called Weekly Rewinds where I summarize all things the fun things from the past week, which will serve as a capsule for anyone who hadn’t had the time to stay in tune during the week.
There was also a post in commemoration of Earth Day 2015, reminding you guys about the importance of being eco-conscious as well as listing some great examples of how to go green.
This month I also did a review of the Basquiat exhibit currently open at Brooklyn Museum, where I got to meet the always wonderful and absolutely stunning June Ambrose and her lovely daughter, Summer.
Also mentioned on the blog my Easter pineapple upside down cake, (recipe coming soon).
The season premier of Game of Thrones was marked by a epic leak of the first four episodes which came rather conveniently after the CEO of HBO announced that they would be moving away from cable television an into the era of online streaming – makes you wonder.
Scandal returned from it’s brief post spring hiatus – and boy have they been on a roll. The many twists and turns, the introduction of a new male (love interest??) for Liv! Her ever tumultuous relationship with her father coming to a head with the impending season finale steamrolling towards us leaves me biting my nails wondering what else will these Scandal writers and Shonda will think of next??
In other Shondaland news the shocker of the spring television season was the death of Grey’s Anatomy staple, Mc Dreamy! It seems that since the beginning of the season with Dempsey’s character “away teaching in Washington” there had been tensions brewing off set and it all ended in his character’s untimely death.
Over on FOX, two great shows have had their last seasons come to an end as we bid adieu to Sons of Anarchy and Justified.
No worries though as one of the networks other his has also returned from it’s post spring hiatus with guns blazing. Gotham- a guilty pleasure of the hubby and I – has been back in full swing and has not disappointed.
I have also found a new reason to fall in love with Hillary Duff again since Lizzy McGuire, on TvLand’s Younger based on the Pamela Redmond Satran novel of the same name and directed by former Sex and the City director Darren Star.
He will be taking the reigns from fomer host John Stewart who recently announced his retirement. Stewart’s last episode will be on August 6th. After which he will be replaced by South African comedian. I anticipate big changes at Comedy Central with the show’s relaunch.
Only time will tell.
