Month: March 2016

In Living Color

For my third feature I chose to highlight another amazing woman who has earned the title Wonder Woman. She balances studying, career, planning a wedding and blogging all at the same time.

But in her words she just enjoys the wanderlust of travel and seeing all of life’s colors. Keep reading to learn more about Dr. Diva – Gucci.

Live Your Adventure

For my second feature celebrating Women’s History Month and #BlackGirlMagic I wanted to feature someone from my home away from, the island of Grenada. For this post I reached out to fellow blogger and lawyer, Sheba.

Her blog, Grenada Soul Adventurer embodies the perfect kindred spirit vybe of a true island girl. She not only highlights the beauty of the island but her experiences travelling the world and finding her happiness.

But don’t take my word for it, I’ll let her tell it.

Because of Them…

This month’s posts have taken a different direction and are geared towards highlighting important issues during Women’s History Month. This week I decided to shine the spotlight on some wonderful women I know who are making history in their own right.

But none of this would be possible without the actions of the history makers who came before.

Dream Big

As part of my celebration of Women’s History Month I decided to take a new direction this year and invite some of the women in my life that are doing positive things to share how they are making their mark on the world.IMG_20160306_000309

First up is my girl Sherri, the creator of the blog Sherri Dream Big. We’ve known each other since college and had stayed in touch via social media so I figured it was only time to meet up and get the tea on what this busy Bee’s been up to!

Our brunch meeting was anything short of fabulous and a much needed girls day out, with so much insight and wisdom it felt like an episode Iyanla Fix My Life and an Oprah interview – in other words, mind blowingly insightful and refreshing.

Weekly Rewind

Hi guys,

This month has just been flying by. I can’t believe we’re almost half way through March! Geesh! I’m super excited because this month is really big for me.1936104_10156726672310145_2019579992188404600_n

I have a lot exciting thing going on but the best part of all – yesterday I celebrated my birthday! Adding to the excitement the clocks went back last night and spring made a grand appearance this week – which are two of the greatest presents ever!

But enough about me, here’s what’s been going on for the month thus far.

International Women’s Day 2016

Today marks the celebration of the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day.

What is it?

A worldwide event that celebrates women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements, while calling for gender equality. It has been observed since the early 1900s and is now recognised each year on March 8.OBAMA-MEA-CULPA_2734973b-large_trans++pJliwavx4coWFCaEkEsb3kvxIt-lGGWCWqwLa_RXJU8.jpg

The term Women’s History Month was coined by President Barack Obama!

Why do we celebrate it?

#WorkItWednesday – It’s all in the Bra

Hello Again Everyone,

It’s time for yet another #WorkItWednesday post. This week’s post is dedicated to you ladies!

We all know the struggles of finding the right bra for everyday wear – now couple that with finding one that gives you comfort and support while running on the treadmill or in downward dog!? The daunting task is enough to thwart any idea of working out. Since we can’t possibly sit around packing on the pounds, I’ve done some digging to find out what every woman should be looking for in the perfect sports bra – based on her fitness needs.
